The Jenkins School of Highland Dancing would like to pay tribute to one of its former and best remembered pupils, Jennifer Burden who died in 2008 aged 26.
When our dance school was first established many years ago, Jennifer was one of the first local girls to join.
Jennifer soon emerged as both a keen and talented dancer and went on to enjoy a dancing career that was showered with success, both competitively (Jennifer won both the SOHDA Scottish Novice Championship and SOHDA Scottish Intermediate Championship) and non-competitively (via the many performances she gave, both at home and abroad).
But Jennifer will be remembered most for her character and her special personality, not least the way she always brought a smile to those who knew her.
For this reason, she will forever have a special place in the hearts of her former dance teachers and will continue to be remembered and missed by everyone connected with the dance school.
